Ministry of Tourism hosts International Mango Festival in Delhi — three day mango extravaganza. Dilli Haat, owned by Central government houses emporiums from every corner of India, accompanied by regional cuisines. The King of fruits rule Dilli Haat during the Mango Carnival.
A lot of foreign tourists are spotted taking part in this one-of-its-kind fiesta. The festival is open to all. And there’s more in store. Traditional varieties of mango like Falsi, chaunsa, badami, Alphonso, dashei, Bombay green, langda dominate the event. Rare species like nam dok mai, glenn, sindhri, kesar, kalami, kishen bhog, neelum, suwarn, bangampalli, tommy atkins, papitiyo, raspuri, payri, totapuri, faji, chinna rasalu, chittur are seen on platter too.
Take a break from work and chalk out a mango diet. The festival houses several processed products like mango quash, sweet n sour pickles, jelly, chutney, bottled juice, aam papad. Chefs from top hotels are seen illustrating recipes with live obvious live demonstration. Tip: Don’t forget to carry a pen and paper!
Coming to minutes of the fest, you’ll get to see unique competitions. Mango slogan writing competitions, mango eating contests, mango quiz coupled with mango folk dance! You have to brush up your general knowledge skills to answer an array of questions and take home the prize. Mango eating contest sees people of all ages gorging onto the king of fruits, finishing off plates in seconds! If you love mangoes, buy a mango plant to accentuate your farm. The fiesta sees a lot of sell and purchase of mangoes.
Children seem to get a fresh lease of life here. Spurling on juicy wonder, taking part in quiz and dance competitions — there are plenty of things to entertain the little souls!
