Winters in Delhi is loved by all. This is the one thing for which the people of North India wait eagerly throughout the year. In Delhi seasons are extremely different from one another. Due to the humid and unbearable warm weather during the summers, people prefer the winters more. As compared to other regions of the country, the winter is welcomed by the people with great enthusiasm. Everything in the winters is so pleasant; the environment seems greener with freshness prevailing in the air. A walk in the morning is very refreshing with the dew drops all over. It rejuvenates the mind and body as well. It is a different kind of feeling altogether. Though the mercury dips a lot and sometimes the region is covered with heavy blanket of fog, it is very much enjoyable.

Eating outdoors is one of the activities liked by the Delhites during winters. People of this region are all food lovers and they enjoy it most during this time of the year. No matter where they are eating, be it a street stall or a famous restaurants, they enjoy the food.
With the advent of the winter, people get ready to welcome the season with adding more winter clothes to their wardrobes. A comforter of a bed is sufficient with the start of the season, followed by heavy blankets and room heaters and all sorts of things essential to beat the cold. But this year, the scenario is something different. The temperature is dropping day by day leaving the people with no other option than to stack oneself with loads of clothes, covering all parts of the body with only the eyes visible when stepping out their place. People are trying to keep themselves warm in every possible way.
The winter this year is beyond expectation. The temperature dipped to around 1.9 degree Celsius which has not happened in the last five years. During the morning and the nights dense fog covers the whole region with zero visibility with chilly winds throughout the whole day. Sun gives a brief appearance after many days like the guest appearance in a film. It is becoming very hard for the people to cope with this freezing climate. Doing the daily chores of life is become very tough for the mercury dipping low. The main sections mostly affected by this climate are the weaker sections of the society and the homeless. It’s really a tough time for these people for they could not afford things to the fullest to bear the climate. And of course, homeless are the worst affected. They are left with no other option than to bear the shivering cold in open. The most they can do is sitting around fire to warm themselves up.
